Dr. Scott Bissell is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic sports medicine. He has a particular interest in surgery of the shoulder, elbow, and knee with an emphasis on minimally-invasive arthroscopic ligament, tendon, and cartilage repair. Specialties include rotator cuff repair, shoulder instability repair, ACL reconstruction of the knee, complex patella surgery, treatment of clavicle fractures, and hip arthroscopy/labral repair.

Dr. Bissell attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA, He received his medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine in Farmington, CT.  He went on to complete his internship in general surgery and residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY.

Dr. Bissell completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopedic Clinic in Los Angeles, CA.  He remains active in the care of athletes, serving as team physician for several area high schools, and as an orthopedic consultant for the Hartford Wolfpack (AHL).  Additionally, he holds clinical appointments in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and the Department of Kinesiology Doctor of Physical Therapy Program.
