Jim Murdock has over 40 years of experience as an athletic trainer working at many levels of athletics. He has a B.S. in Physical Education from the University of New Hampshire (1980) and a Master’s degree from the University of Virginia in Education/Sports Medicine (1991).
He has worked clinically at every collegiate level: Washington & Lee University (DIII), Monmouth University and the University of Vermont (DI), St. Michaels College (DII) and has been a faculty member and Educational Program Director at Norwich University. Jim has volunteered his professional services for many organizations throughout his career: Little League Baseball, Babe Ruth Baseball, Pop Warner Football, NH Interscholastic Athletic Association, NJ State Interscholastic Athletic Association, Vermont Principals Association, Boston Marathon, Vermont City Marathon, and the United States Olympic Committee Sports Medicine.
Since 2004, Jim has been the Athletic Trainer and Medical Coordinator for USA Wheelchair Rugby. In this role, he has been to four Paralympic Games: Athens, 2004; Beijing, 2008; London, 2012; and Rio de Janeiro, 2016. When the team qualifies, he will be going to Tokyo in 2020. Additionally, he has covered the team for four world championships, two Parapan games, and numerous other tournaments around the world.
Jim’s expertise in athletic training and sports medicine also extends to WADA drug testing, various manual therapy techniques, and medical conditions in disabled athletes.
